Hi Year 9,
As you are aware, we have changed your assessment for Terms 3 and 4 to assist you during the COVID-19 Learning From Home phase of 2021.
One element of this change is that your Yearly Exams, originally scheduled for Weeks 5 and 6 of Term 4, will NOT be going ahead. Instead, you will have a two-week assessment period in Weeks 5 and 6, during which you will have no coursework and no other assessment tasks to complete. The whole two-week period will be dedicated to you just working on your assessment tasks for all EIGHT of your subjects (English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, PDHPE and two electives). This will happen whether you are working at school or at home during this time.
All assessment tasks will be made available to you by your classroom teachers via your regular Google Classrooms at 9.00am on Monday the 1st of November (Week 5) and will be due by 3.00pm on Friday the 12th of November (Week 6). You may hand in your tasks at any time in this two-week period, but all tasks must be submitted by the due date (12th November) at the latest.
Arrangements will be made for the posting of assessment tasks for any student who does not have a computer and/or internet access at home.
All assessment tasks are compulsory and marks will contribute a significant weighting to your final result in each subject.
